Do you know who built all those contemporaries? It just seems interesting that they all showed up in the '80s. Do you know anything about this? It's just very curious and interesting.

The most important thing for us will be if there are enough skating rinks around, since we both teach figure skating. Otherwise, my main concern is about food--farmer's markets, organics, ect...

We think we'll take a weekend trip sometime this spring and explore the area.

Thanks for your help!
It's true that many moved from NJ/NJ/CT to get away from high taxes and expensive housing. However most of the contemporary houses built during the houses was primarily done by NYCers who wanted a weekend house to get away from the city.

The Poconos are going to be the big place to hang on the weekends again, in my opinion. Due to the poor economy vacationers will fly less and go to places that are convenient by car. This should be an interesting 3 to 7 years for the Poconos. Hopefully we won't allow property taxes to go overboard as this area begins to develop more.

Interesting, Businezguy! I heard that the Shawnee Ice Arena was still open, but when I tried to track it down, I was told that it's been closed for the past 10 years :-( My partner and I, really need a local ice arena inorder to make this move.
