In my searchings for real estate and a relocation to Northeastern PA I've been told about what's coming to Monroe County by excited real estate people. Wall Street West. I did a search on this site and found no postings. This is actually pretty huge and helps to solidify my ideas about the value of Monroe County. Please take a read:

I know there have been posts about it already with several links. Don't know why they didn't come up in searches. There were more links than what you have above...did you search the Pa.forum also and not just Northeast Pa??

Default Wall Street West

Hello I LOVE PA! ~

I just did another search in "Pennsylvania" and this post came up ... but I couldn't find much of anything else about it? It was mentioned here and there, but no in depth discussion that I could find. Please direct me to the posts you're referring to.

And yes ... there's tons more on Wall Street West if you google it. I just provided a few links.

What have you learned about Wall Street West?

Default Casinos

Plus the Casinos are suspose to revitalize the area also.
Mt Airy Lodge which had become an eyesore and crime prone,
now is almost ready to be a Grand Casino. Mohegan Sun which is in Wilkes Barre and already open. More are coming our way.
Some think this as a good thing, others as a bad.
But, bringing back an area, and uplifting it.......can't hurt.

Hello there Jane. Thus far Downtown Scranton has managed to lure NEPA's first Wall Street West operative, which is known as "Seccas." It is expected to employ roughly a dozen people. I've also heard that construction is underway on a massive commerce park in Middle Smithfield Township, just north of East Stroudsburg, that will be marketed aggressively towards Wall Street West-related firms. There's also a major upcoming commerce park 1/4-mile from my home in Pittston Township, CenterPoint, which will also be marketed towards Wall Street West. If all goes well, we should have several thousand new white-collar, family-sustaining career opportunities in several areas in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Pocono regions within the next 3-6 years.

Hi SWB.......I think your right! ( as usual I might add )
Wall Street coming our way is a boom for all of these local counties.
People from Pike, Carbon, Monroe, and "all "of the local counties will benefit......with jobs and home sales.......all those important things.
These offices won't be far from most of our local locations, great for all those NY commuters with that type of job.
That promised train however.......it just keeps chuggin' along......and never shows up.. I wonder in the years ahead ( far, far) if it will even be as convenient as the buses. Most of the buses have no stops. A train will meander on......and make many stops along the way........slowing its journey.
It could take 2 or 3 hours at that rate to arrive in a city location. Way to long for a commuter. Unless he takes a blanket and pillow along.
But, things are looking up..........improving..........I'm so happy to say.
Scranton is one of my favorite places to go to, and the shopping in Dickson City will be the death of me yet...

Jane Law,
I did a search on the Pa forum (not google) and came up with a few threads, unfortunately my computer skills prevents me from linking them! Anyway, if you go back in date order, one was started 4/5/07 and is in the Northeast pa forum, one was started 9/27/06, that is in the pa forum. I know I started one myself and received tons of responses but I can't seem to find it. I'll keep looking.

Thanks I LOVE PA and Summering. And hello to the soon to be Honorable SWB. Thank you very kindly for the info on Wall Street West. And ... I adore your photographs. You are really an excellent photographer! I can't wait to get up there and visit this area that I'm learning so much about.
