While there is more than enough water in NEPA even during a "drought" there's a finite amount of water in the resivoirs and they could become strained during a really long period of no rain fall. The good thing is with a few good rain storms they rerun to normal levels. It's just a precautionary measure to insure they don't get to a critical level in case the drought continues. Even wells in rural areas that are not that far in the ground can start to experience issues...

Our friends in Lansford got bad damage on two cars. One had a sun window and front window broken plus dings. The other car had a lot of dings.
The news stated 300 cars in that area were damaged. Some were on TV very upset as they were not allowed to use their car to get to work in the windows condition.

Some have been closer then we know. I remember when Marshalls Creek was hit at Monroe Lake, I didn't know about it until my mother was able to get out of there. It really caused a lot of damage and to some very huge, old trees.

One that hit in the woods area of Penn Estates no one heard about. I saw trees one block over from my home that were twisted. Trees that were big, and old. Twisted into a circle......

Some are just kept quiet maybe to keep our area alive and well for tourists.......who knows?

??? Are you saying they couldn't drive their car? AFAIK you don't need windows in your car to drive it, at most you might be required to wear eye/face protection if the windscreen is blown out.

I have never heard of anybody being killed by hail. On the other hand; I am sure that it has happened.

Years ago I used to work a freight dock. Every once in a while we would get trailers with hail damage to their roofs. The white metal/aluminum in the trailer roof is very hard. You could hit it with a large ball peen hammer and not dent it. Some of the roofs (with hail damage) would have substantial dents. It was hard to imagine the amount of force that it took to cause these dents. I would not want to be outside when one of these super hail storms hit.

Hail could also be responsible for secondary deaths - after your windshield is destroyed at highway speeds.
