There aren't too many apartments in Mountain Top and there really aren't many within walking distance of shops either. Mountain Top in a sense has a lot of homes and not many rentals. I've tried looking myself, even tried to buy a home and it didn't work out so now I'm renting it from the owners. I pretty sure, and don't quote me on this, but Mountain Top is setup not to have many rentals. If you live there they almost want you to buy. Plus, it won't be cheap either. A 3-bedroom home will probably rent for $1,000/month. Hope this helps

You can try Kingston or Forty Fort. That's your best bet for houses within walking distance of anything. Like the previous poster said, Mt Top isn't really the kind of town where you walk around. Your husband might not like commuting up and down the mountain in the winter time, but it's certainly do-able.

In Mt Top, I guess the closest developments within walking distance to stuff are Kirby Estates and Sherwood Estates. Maybe there's a house for rent in one of those. Good luck!
