My husband and I are looking to purchase a home in Lake Naomi and rent it out.

I've been hearing alot about gangs and crime and want to make sure this is a wise investment.

Any comments?

Thanks

Lake Naomi is a very safe choice, and I really think a very sound investment. Good luck to you. Another thought development that comes to mind is Arrowhead Lakes. It's another beautiful lake community.

Lake Naomi is beautiful...My son lives there and loves it. There are some very
nice restaurants in the area. and Lake Naomi has so much to offer, swimming,
the beautiful large lake, boating, their brand new recreation facility. We love it
there and we are thinking of "renting" there next summer. Good luck. IF you do buy
and decide to rent it out, let me know, maybe I would be interested....

We are selling our home in White Haven, PA which is 15 minutes from Hazelton, approx. same distance from Wilkes Barre and also, not far from Blakeslee, PA...It is in a tiny community called, Hickory Hills and it is serene, beautiful and BRAND new! It is a spacious ranch style with 3 bedrooms & two baths...I cannot tell you how pristine and lovely it is! We bought it new and upgraded it all. Even the appliances are barely used. We put in a gas burning stove approx. 6 mos. ago; put in wood laminate flooring a couple of mos. ago...it is lovely. Email me at eraiola@thg.com for more info.

Default Response

I don't know if you received my response relevant to our home in White Haven, PA.
I'm new at this...let me know.
Thanks!

By the way, unless you have little kids and need a real resort type environment, coupled with paying high community fees, I advise to stay away from communities like Arrowhead Lakes, or Towminsing Trails, etc. They are loud, busy, crowded in summer, and have primarily vacationers...

After thinking about this I am wondering whether the ATV's that are allowed in Towamenging Trails would be condusive to a nice peaceful environment.
Be careful also.......some areas are in a very, cold, cold, belt.
Especially Blakeslee........( sorry Blakeslee people)
Everytime you think there is NO snow. Its in Blakeslee.......
My daughter use to drive home from college. She'd be fine before she hit there and after she left that section of 80 by Blakeslee.
I think the snow, just loves that area and picked it for our Skiing friends who come to visit.
You might like Bear Creek, off of 309........again, high elevation so colder.

I think junk bonds might be a better investment.

My wife and I (ages 71 and 70) are thinking of buying a house at Lake Naomi. The foregoing comments are helpful, but I'd appreciate any information about weather, medical care, shopping, or anything helpful - pro or con - you can offer.

For amari1725: Geisinger Medical Clinic is right behind the Walmart in Mt Pocono. I believe the care there is good. Hospitals are quite a distance compared to the city, about 40 min to Geisinger in WB or PMC in Stroudsburg There is a lot of snow in the winter and it does get colder early here. There is shopping at the outlets and stroud mall, Stroudsburg is relatively close. I do not know too much about Lake Naomi but Arrowhead is a great place for investment(which we did first) and primary (which we are now). Good luck
