For Scranton residents, bankruptcy is an inviting option - latimes.com

As someone who was born and raised in Northeast PA and attended high school in Scranton, this saddens me. It's a long time in the making, with people leaving the area for opportunities. I didn't realize taxes have gone up so much. I live in NJ, and you'd be hard pressed to convince me to move to Scranton and pay nearly $5,000 in taxes, yet I pay more than that in NJ. What's left to do? I wish I could figure out ways to patronize Scranton businesses more from where I am. This would be very sad.

That article is a joke. Nice picture too, a prime example of why you shouldn't believe everything you read.

Honestly, did they drive around the city to find the absolute worst picture they could. Scranton is certainly a mess but mismanagement is the issue and trying to set the tone of the article by mentioning Detroit is ridiculous.
