Just for those that think that river is polluted, unusable or just downright dirty I give you this......

48" Musky caught in the Bloomsburg area and I have caught them in the Wilkes-Barre and Tunkhannock areas as well. This a personal best Musky from the kayak on the Susky..

The fish was revived and released healthy to fight another day..

Never got the Musky yet but never really fished for them either.

Here's one of my better fishing stories. My cousin caught two really nice smallmouth on the same lure....... at the same time. One was on the top treble hook and the other was on the bottom treble hook.

Another of my favoreites was when we were teenagers and another cousin caught a blue gill, I'm sure you know Weluvapa what a PITA those fish can sometimes be to get off the hook. He's taking the hook out and the thing starts flapping around like a.... well a fish out of water. The hook went into his thumb past the barb. Now he's got this fish on a line with hook jambed into this thumb and the thing is flapping around pushing it in further. He grabs the fish with his other hand and all you hear is crunch! LOL.... no more flapping fish. We ended up having to push that one through, no way it was coming out.

The Susky is loade with Smallies, Norterns and Muskies. You just have to fish it.

I always really admire that river as I drive along it's banks. We have many rivers here in southern Ontario that look a lot like it but they are way smaller than the Susky. I especially like that long stretch of road along the bank as you are approaching Harrisburg from the north. Schmoken Dam anyone????? LOL

Nice catch, Dan. How did you keep the kayak steady with that guy on the line? Anyway, thanks for sharing.

That Hobie kayak is very stable, I can stand up and fish in it. With that said he did drag me around for about 15min and was spinning me around in circles every time he went under the kayak.

I've had that same Kayak for 7 years. The Hobie was the best decision I ever made. Nothing beats it for fishing and stability. I use mine twice a day on Big Bass Lake. No muskies like that here, but plenty of nice largemouth bass.
