We recently purchased a yellow English Labrador retriever puppy from Frida Vanderlely in Ottsville, Pa. And it is one of the best experiences we have had with a breeder. We did a lot of research and decided to meet with Frida. She only has one litter a year and keeps all her dogs in her house, they are all members of her family. Our pup is so sweet and very gentle natured, our vet has told us she is such a well tempered, beautiful puppy. After only having her for a month she is already picking up on the basic commands and is almost completely house trained. Frida puts lots of love and effort into the litter and it shows. We have developed a great friendship with her and send her pictures to keep her updated on how our pup is doing. Highly recommend her if you are looking for a puppy.

hi thanks for all your help I'm interested in a puppy lab because 8-14-2013 my 11 yrs little girl passed away in her sleepily she was wonderful but I got her late in life she was 7 and now I want a puppy to grow up and old with cause the love this dog gave was unbeatable I know you can't replace her but if her breed in a pup is only 50 percent that will be all I'll need. and for the lady who's getting a eight year old make sure the vet checks for seizures and tumors unfortunately this breed tend to have them don't change your mind just be watchful

I considered to adopt but they crushed me and my boys. They said I was approved and my home visit was good and was told I should have him in a few days. Then was told after a fair they had other applications that came in on the same dog I thought was on hold for us. Now what do I tell my boys? I'm having a hard time accepting this that I don't want to work with any agency because of this.

Are you breed specific? There are plenty of worthy dogs sitting in the local shelters that would love a home with children.

Please look into adopting a rescue dog. We recently got a wonderful mixed breed dog. While we were looking for our special dog, we saw lots and lots of black lab puppies. Our pure bred golden passed away a year ago in May and we waited for awhile until we were ready for a new dog. I am so glad we went with a rescue place. We live in the Lehigh Valley and ended up going with this place: http://wagsrescue.org/ I know it's not close to you, but they were really, really good to work with and had a huge amount of puppies and young dogs.
