I am wondering if anybody in the Stroudsburg area knows if there is summer camp gounds that have lakes, swimming pool, cabins, etc. for groups. Could be used for adults as well as kids. Just asking. Thanks!

David,

Thanks a lot. I didn't realize there were that many in the area.

There are also weekly camps for kids at Pocono Environmental Education Center, but this is the last week.
PEEC | Pocono Environmental Education Center | Delaware Water Gap Nation Recreation Area | Home
There is no swimming pool and it's a day camp (except for some sleepover nights for older kids) but the kids do swim once a week at Lake Akenac.
I believe Kettle Creek also has some kind of day camp.

The thing about PEEC is that they often have extended weekend events including cabin/meals that are for adults or families ... these go on throughout the year. For example, I attend two photography workshops that begin Friday and go through Sunday - includes a cabin, all meals and the instructor, and it's about $200. There are similar events for bird-watching or hiking etc.

Check out their schedule on the Web site.

I love PEEC - it's a great resource for the NEPA area.

Here's another one that whose name I couldn't remember but came to me this morning:

Streamside Camp & Conference Center = Streamside Christian Camp

you might want to check them out...they're located right off Rt. 715 in Reeders...Mt. Gilead is down the road from this one...
