Does anyone have any experience donating to them? I swear I cant understand for the life of me why they cant return phone calls. They are supposed to be doing a service to the Wayne/Pike less fortunate, I have a handful of great items to donate and not even a call. Just thought maybe someone has had some experience with them or has a better suggestion for me??

Pocono mama,

What is it? I am not familiar with it. We donate to the Salvation army in Port Jervis. I am always giving things away but I never heard of kyle's crib.

There is also a Salvation Army in Honesdale right on Route 6. I try to Freecycle a lot of stuff too if I can't sell on Ebay. I HATE throwing away good stuff that someone else can use.

I have had the same experience with Shepherd's Maternity House as well.

I'm sure another charitable organization would love your stuff. I've been donating to Good Shepherd Thrift Stores (they are too far south of you though I'm sure). My son has had services at Good Shepherd so I like to donate to them.

Thanks I'll look into those. I like the idea of Cribs for Kyle because they give only necessities(cribs, high chairs, etc) to less fortunate in pike and wayne. I'll give them a few more days then see where to go with it. I'm so ready to get my baby a bed!

If you are near Matamoras, you can also try TryState Pregnancy Center. The take only baby necessities. No toys. I gave them a few baby things that I no longer needed. Contact Rhiannon Schlangen.

Default Cribs for Kyle

Cribs for Kyle is a program run in areas only within the Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack, or Western Wayne School District. Matamoras is simply too far to go. They have tried to contact surrounding counties to begin their own crib program, but no one has . It is a wonderful program that has been in existance for 9 years now. To date over 300 cribs have been provided for families in need. I did not want any bad things being said about the program, there was a reason why no one got back to you with your donations. If you lived within the Cribs for Kyle service area I am sure some needy child would have benifited from your donations. I hope that you did find someone that could use them, there are many needy families in every county, not just Wayne and the Wallenpaupack School District.

I do live well within the area and called several times and actually did speak to someone at one point. I had a beautiful set that was hardly used, crib, changing table, dresser, etc and never got a response. I finally just gave it to someone on craigslist. I still feel bad about that but I tried.
