I am sorry but I really do not think they should have closed schools here in Scranton today.

I'm hearing different things about wind speeds, but down here in Carbon we're already seeing wind speeds around 20 mph. I've already had to pull a few huge branches off the roof, and drag a few that have fallen back over the bank just in case they decide to go airborne.

Again, I don't think we'll see any flooding but I do think we'll see a lot of wind and power outages. PPL is saying to expect 1.1 million customers out. Of course, I think most of us know that is a CYA move because of the clusterblank they had during last year's outages.

What a difference a few miles can make.... Rural is going to get hit harder because of fallen trees, but I think everyone can return their bread milk and water to the stores they came from..

We should use to track power outages and when they come back up. People in NJ are already reporting no power.

PPL reports that 64 people are out in Mahoning Twp, Carbon County. That's where our Giant and Walmart stores are. The winds are bad but not so bad yet that they should be out of power. They need to update their power infrastructure big time.

The pictures coming out of New Jersey are just crazy - especially Ocean City and surrounding areas.
