I am sure most of us have missed the
Shawnee Balloon Festival.......Oct 12,13 and 14.......
Be sure to catch it next year around this time. When the air is full of glowing balloons, vendors, food and fun.
It was the 22nd Annual Balloon Festival......look for the 23rd next fall.

For the Waterfall lovers in Pa. a good site to visit is
Pa. Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources
Here are some of the falls you will find out about:
Dingmans Falls off 209
Fulmer Falls DWGNR area
Falls at hornbecks Creek Route 209
Glen Onoko Falls Jim Thorpe
Hawk Falls.....Hickory Run State PK off 534
Raymondskill Falls ...between Milford and Dingmans
Rickets Glen State Park...Bloomsburg
Silver Thread Falls.... Dingmans
Bushkill Falls and Buttermilk Falls I think have their own sites.

Don't forget the Engine Show in Bangor this weekend.....old tyme engines, homemade food for lunch, music, crafts, flea market, and I think pony rides.....The kids love to see how everything once worked.
They love the little train ride there too. There are small signs along the way......its fun, different, and a real Pocono happening.

Jackson Twp Fire Co. is having their 22nd Annual Craft Fair ...10 to 4PM
Oct 20 at the firehouse on 715 in Readers.

Oct 20,23,27 There are Moscow Steam Train Excursions departing at 1PM and returning at 3PM
They leave Steamtown Nat'l historic Site and head to Moscow. This 26 mile trip includes a 30/40 min. stop and takes two hours. It follows Roaring Brook through the Nay Aug tunnel into the Pocono Mt. across numerous bridges and through the historic and scenic pa.

There is a Tobyhanna Excursion on the 28th...departing at 11 AM and returning at approx 3:00 see Steamtown National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service)
Please be sure to check if you need a reservation.

Heres one for Honesdale / Hawley people......the Grape Express for ages 21 and older only!! Sunday Oct 21 departing at 1PM there is a charge pp. ( not all that bad considering what you get)
You will have a scenic ride to Hawley...it ends at the Falls Port Inn and Steakhouse. There is a wine tasting event and food stations. Learn how to choose your wines. It is a 3 1/2 hour round trip...Reservations req.

Honesdale to Hawley..also has a scenic tour at 1PM on the 20th of Oct. 3 hours one hour in Hawley ( there is a fee)

For our Southern friends in Lehigh.....Boo at the Zoo is on Oct 27th and 28th...at the Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville featuring Trick or Treat and the 2nd annual Mascot parade....Lehigh Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau - The Official Travel Resource for Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton, PA

I have a list of boat rental places, anyone needing that please PM me.
Our Area Lakes and river allow an outdoor getaway from your hustle and bustle.

I also have a list of our vineyards and Wineries.......( PM if you need them)

Have a great ending of our fall season..........soon snow will be in the air. Right now the leaves are still on a good many of our trees.
The weather has been warm and fantastic. Thats all for now...

The Stourbridge Line in Honesdale also does a Halloween train ride, which is at 1 pm on Sat., October 27. Check out the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce website for more info.

Great post Summering!!! I love these kind of posts. I didn't get my fill of waterfalls this summer, so I am going to check out that web-site. Thanks again!
And the train ride....just might take that after living here for 14 years! I'm going to make beleive I am a tourist!

Your Welcome.........I know that in winter there is so much less to do........so enjoy now!
That one train ride with the wine and foods.......reserve a spot for yourself.
It is $45.00 but, since it is the train, food and wine.......its not a bad price.
Take some pictures if you can. At least please post how your trip and adventure went.

A HARVEST FESTIVAL NEAR WIND GAP.............

Anyone living near Wind Gap there is a Harvest Festival that family attended last year and it was great fun and Everything is FREE!

The House on the Rock Family Church @ 1336 Jacobsburg Rd. in Wind Gap 18091
holds this every year........it is for this FRIDAY OCTOBER 19th 5:30PM to 8:30PM
Rain Date October 26th..........***
Games
Food
Candy
Rides
Petting Zoo.........Pumpkin Patches
It says EVERYTHING is FREE............can't get better then that for a fun family evening..............Have Fun. ( you may need to google map the church it is just off of 33)

The Fernwood SCOTTISH AND IRISH FESTIVAL
will be NOVEMBER 9th evening thru Nov 11th
10 to 10 on Sat and 10 to 5 on Sunday.....
Music starting Friday night and lots of music and fun to
be had........Google that for more information as I don't know what I
am allowed to post........Sure sounds like fun.......in Bushkill Pa. (209)

If anyone happens to shop at a Weis Market, they have some free booklets that list lots of the Halloween events in the area, complete with directions, prices, hours, etc.
