Yep new on this forum, but wanted to start a thread. Yes this thread has been done before, but it's what got my attention to this forum and it hasn't had any activity in quite a while. Being a wing "nut" I thought I would share my experience at a place I found in the Carbondale area. It's called the Pickled Trout Tavern and the wings I've had from there are the best by far. They have over 20 flavors and most are house made. I hate the ketchup based sauce used by places like the Windsor....they are so overrated as is Kelly's. I've had wings in nearly every place that serves them in the immediate area and these wings are way better. Large, juicy on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. They are never pre-cooked....actually says that right on the menu! They take a little longer to get once ordered but the wait is well worth it. They also have the best chili and the best cheesesteak philly I have ever tasted...called the Jedi, it's huge! Anyway, just thought I would share that. Another good wing place is in Waymart and it's called the Crossroads. Be sure to check these places out and let's hear about any other good places you know of!

I'll have to give them a try if I get up that way....but I have to disagree about the Windsor being overrated....the Windsor's sauce is tasty...sure its not very hot, but I order extra-hot there to make up for it. Kelly's is definitely overrated....Kelly's wings are just too dry for me.

The Windsor doesn't use ketchup based sauce....the main ingredient is Frank's Red Hot.

I've had their hot wings, which are very good, but I haven't yet tried the caesar garlic....I'll be trying them soon. Gentile's makes a great cheesesteak...best I've had outside of Philly!

Yeah the cheesesteaks are great as are the salads and burgers too. He also makes a good texas weiner sauce.

I haven't tried some of the other places suggested, but the best I have had in the area is Gavin's in Scranton.

The Y-Knot near Moscow has some very tasty wings. I like Kelly's too. Again, I think it's all a matter of how you like your wings - lots of sauce, little sauce, hot, mild.

I think it's great fun going around to all these places and giving their wings a try!
