Hi all...can anyone give a ballpark cost for homeowners insurance in the Poconos?

I just bought in Carbon County. All said and done I'm paying less than $1,000 a year.

Depends on replacement value, age, proximity to fire plug or fire station, whether it's occupied full or part time, physical location, smoke alarms, liability limits, value of contents, etc. If you have auto insurance, you can usually get a discount on home insurance. I recommend calling several independent insurance agents for an estimate.

I'm paying $898.00 a year with State Farm but I also have my cars insured with them so it's discounted...
