Records: Sherman Hills ducked inspections - News - Citizens' Voice

Quote:

The complex went without a single inspection for more than two years, even
though the city requires a new inspection each time a new tenant moves into an
apartment.

Neither the out-of-state owners of the complex nor the on-site managers
responded to phone messages seeking comment.

Sherman Hills, 300 Parkview Circle, has recently become a concern for
residents and city leaders. In the past year, there have been seven confirmed
shootings, and a stairwell that collapsed last month inside a building
hospitalized a woman.

I was so angry after reading this article today. So much could be done to save Wilkes-Barre but our leaders can't even be bothered to follow their own ordinances.

This surprises you? If you want to see what W-B and Scranton will look like in 20 years, just take a look at Detroit. A fine example of Democratic control and kick backs. Heck, Hazleton is half way there now.

Anyway, back on topic...

Annie, a good while ago I was a defender of Leighton. Now I must admit that he is just a really good politician but a pretty terrible leader. This latest news of his corrupt ways just infuriates me - especially knowing how detrimental this whole issue has been for our city.

I'm interested in seeing how many private landlords' properties were inspected as well as how many tenants were evicted under the city's rental ordinance.

the money that could fix this is there but is lining unnamed people's pockets---one of the largest slumlords in wilkes-barre is also prominent in politics for quite a long time and has way too many vowels in his name---why hasn't the owners of the company that run sherman hills been identified?
plus--since it IS drug central-----why is there not a drug task force pinpointing and cleaning up that area?
i could go on but those of us that have been connected to law enforcement outside this area have some probably on target ideas why

NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE BOUT THE AVERAGE HARD-WORKING GUYS HERE CAUSE THEY LIVE ISOLATED FROM THIS

One reason, IMO, is because there are not enough of the hard working residents involved in the system. Not just as politicians but as conscientious citizens.

just stating facts trip---btw---i have too many vowels in my name too---as to sherman hills--tis not the residents--it's who is closing their eyes to what's going on---the drug sellers do come to spots where they can market their products without interference and the demand is high

No problem with your verbage Annie. Just pointing out how there is an accepted attitude when it comes to making a generalization about whites and white based ethnic groups. Bash Germans, Irish, French all you want, but just drop the N word, and all holy hell breaks loose.
