Service Electric Cable has broadband. It partners with Penn Tele Data (PTD) and the bandwith is 6 mbps. I haven't seen Comcast here yet but there is verizon and some areas have satellite service but in Wilkes Barre they only have for TV yet.

PTD has been wonderful for me and super fast. Just remember to watch your limit of 40 GB bandwith limit which is hard to surpass anyway.

actuallly, comcast does not service Wilkes Barre (nor Kingston, I think).... W-B is serviced by Service electric... they have the W-B market cornered and have since 1965. I happened to use them and have the internet service through them with PennTeleData.... I am only using 4Mb, but I think they have up to 8..... but really, 4 is fast enough for me....
and... they are less expensive (so I've heard from people who have Comcast) than Comcast.... but they don't offer all the services that Comcast does (as in, phone, TV cable and internet services)...
you can also use Verizon if you are a verizon phone customer. There is also Epix DSL service for people who have phone service through Frontier (the old commonwealth phone company)

The cut-off for Comcast is just north of Wilkes-Barre. I live just ten minutes north of town and we use Comcast for our Internet access.

Default Perfect.

I think i found my internet provider... ;-) thanks guys and gals.. service electric is the perfect price for the perfect speed.... I happen to have satellite TV and no home phone just a celll.. so their price for non cable customers seems fair to me. Thanks.
