Where to go for a short weekend?

We are a family of 3 ,with a pre teen.

We want mostly outdoor fun. We plan to shoot some fireworks.

No hershey,or the like. No indoor waterpark.big crowds are not for us.

So what can you recommend?

Can't seem to find a ceasers family resort. Camel back and the like are charging a premium. Any marriott/starwood brands that are resort like?

Let's see: You want an upscale family resort in a remote location where you can shoot off fireworks and not be charged an arm and a leg? Can't think of any.

You’ll be hard pressed to find somewhere that will allow you to shoot off fireworks. You also must provide state ID in order to purchase.

We have been to Caesers Poconos Palace when it was a thing to do for couples. We also went to a family oriented from the same brand. Lots of fun. We did not consider these resorts upscale, but average.

Ricketts Glen Falls is free and will take up a whole day, you can picnic and swim after the falls. On a second day you can take the boat ride at Lake Wallenpaupack, then head over to Claws and Paws Zoo, another Picnic for dinner this time at Promised Land State Park. Third day hit up Camelback just the one day and you could again picnic just up the mountain for less by sitting at Big Pocono State Park. Stay in three different cheaper hotels at each location. Forget Fireworks unless you want to find an open field.

If you are staying less time just pick one or two of those and stay in cheaper hotels close by.

Found a couple of Poconos' resorts where you can launch fireworks. Not too expensive either.

Where to go for a short weekend? - What do you consider a short weekend??

We want mostly outdoor fun. We plan to shoot some fireworks. - Don't think you'd be allowed to do that out here. Especially in the woods!!

So what can you recommend? - Whitewater Challengers if you all don't mind rafting and the young ones aren't too young for that type of adventure.

While we seem to be in a Noah's ark situation right now, your post reminded me of a recent fire out West started by fireworks. I found this link which I thought I would share: https://www.nfpa.org/Public-Educatio...ires/Fireworks
Quote:
Fireworks start an average of 18,500 fires per year, including 1,300 structure fires, 300 vehicle fires, and 16,900 outside and other fires. These fires caused an average of three deaths, 40 civilian injuries, and an average of $43 million in direct property damage.
I personally love fireworks that light up the sky, but hate the boomers as does every single dog I know. Sorry, to be a wet blanket, but I think it's a good caution to give.

My long gone black Lab Toby would hide in the closet or bathtub whenever he heard thunder or fireworks....I got him as a rescue when he was somewhere around 5-6 years old...as he got older he grew accustomed to it but those first years with us he was terrified....
