could anyone tell me when the busiest and least busiest times are in luzerne/lackawanna counties for selling/buying homes and why???

am trying to decide what month to leave and start house search!

I think March/April is usually the start of the real estate "season" in the northeast in general. Good luck with your search!

anytime is a good time to buy, but generally the spring is the perceived best time to sell, so selection will probably be better around then. if you want the best deal, get a house at foreclosure auction. 30-60% off fair market right there!

I agree with Team Rickert that Spring is usually a very busy time as folks start to aggressively pursue a new home as their childrens' school years near an end so they can have time over the summer months to move in and become acclimated to their new hometowns, permitting their children to make new friends before starting at a new school in the Fall.

Winter months you find serious buyers. You find many folks just looking in the spring and summer. Relos are the best because they are serious about moving.
