My sister is trying to find a realtor to list her house in Scranton. The problem is that the response time for the realtor to call back takes several days. (3 days or more) What if someone is calling to see the house and they take this long to call back? She's listed her house in the past and has had the same problem.

We had the same problem finding a Realtor up there. We're moving from FL to NEPA and by the time a realtor in NEPA responded, one of the homes was already sold! Picking up the phone shouldn't take days... I'm sending you the link to a Realtor we are now working with and he has been absolutely amazing! Best of luck.

By the way, after spending 30, some odd, years in the business I find your comments difficult to believe; but, then again, I'm a creation of the New Jersey real estate industry; and I'm used to dealing in a matter of hours - sometimes even minutes - with both sellers, and buyers alike.
You do realize that Realtors are, 'straight-commission motivated' - Right! I'm forced to conclude that if a Realtor is taking, 'several days' to get back to someone, then, that someone has to be a giant temperamental, peevish, and/or unrealistic 'problem seller'! (Yeah, those people are out there too.)
One thing's for sure, though: There ain't NO MONEY on the table because if there were that, 'straight-commission motivated' Realtor would get back to you almost immediately! You know, now that I think about it, I really don't miss the business. It was good to me; but I'm glad I'm out.
