What do you all think are the best Chinese restaurants in the Scranton area? Obviously, there are tons of takeout places and sit-down restaurants, but have you eaten from any with really yummy, fresh-tasting food?

I've always been a fan of the House of China on Moosic Street in the Electric City.

The House of China is the best your going to get in the city. For take-out there is a place in Jessup that seems to be the freshest. And it seems a little cleaner than most.

More in the class of take out, but I jsut went their for the first time. The lady behind the counter said it is the only place that the owner of Coopers Restaurant will eat Chinese food from. It was very good.
I do miss eating in a Chinese Rest and ordering a plate of food! Buffets have taken over, and I have heard WAY too many stories about people getting sick at Chinese Buffets, so I no longer enjoy them. I will have to try House of China!

Ohhh, New China Star. Yes, for takeout it's definitely fine, and they are certainly very friendly (which matters to me). . .but it still is very takeout-ish. I am not really asking for authentic Sichuan food; I know that most places serve Americanized fare, and that's fine. But that yellow takeout fried rice and deep-fried everything just gets old after awhile. Good sit-down places are able to take Americanized Chinese and make it taste fresh, and that's really what I was hoping to hear about, although the takeout place in Jessup sounds promising. Looks like I will be giving House of China a try! Thanks

When you come back from NYC, you can get off at Denville. Take a right when you get to town, and on the Right is an excellent sit down place. Authentic. Fun for the kids.

Since I never 'come back' from NYC, what state would Denville be in?
