Howdy folks - I've just had surgery on my ankle and cannot put any weight on it for at least two months. I have crutches but they are extremely limiting when it comes to, say, walking around a mall or event of some kind.

A friend told me that the Lions Club in her area would loan wheelchairs for temporary use. I can't find anything about such a program here.

It seems a waste to buy or rent one if such a program does exist. I'm just looking for the basic hand-propelled one; nothing fancy. Anyone know of something that would help?

Tx

Craigslist? When my mother died, there were two wheel chairs and three walkers in the house, and I tried to sell them for a very low price. I would have given them away. No hits, so I gave them to Salvation Army.

I'd look on Craigslist first, something like that there should be a lot of them for cheap. Here is one for $20 in Hazelton.

wheel chair - like new

Sell it when you don't need it.
