Today the founder of the Guardian Angels, Curtis Sliwa, was in Wilkes-Barre drumming up support for a new chapter of his crime-fighting organization here in response to the rising violent crime in the Wyoming Valley.

Here is a link to a Wikipedia article about the organization for those who are inclined to read more about them:

Don't be like that I already picked up your beret for you.
Your jacket is at Kevins getting the logo on the back.

We don't need this, ask Detroit if they want them.

Wilkes Barre is not Beruit

Was your mother at the Mohegan Sun Casino last Sunday? I could have sworn I saw her. I would have said hello, but I doubt she would have recognized me.

I actually saw about a half-dozen people I knew there. She looked busy; she was hovering near a slot machine chatting with a few other people (or trying to anyways as it was VERY LOUD in there!) I never saw the casino so packed; every single machine was occupied and there were people waiting behind those at machines. I'm surprised they're not building another casino in the area; we can obviously support it. My rather discerning friend enjoyed her first visit to the casino since turning 21; I myself have been there a few times since it's almost within walking distance to my home.
