Our taxes are a little over $300 for the Penn Forest tax in May and about $1800 or a little more for school taxes in august.Good luck where ever you move.If you want to take a look at home (just a look ,) go to www.housejockey.com/2885.Have (broken link) a good day.
OK , I see why the site wont work. After the /2885 there is ( .Have" ) sticking to the link. It is throwing it off.

I bought my 3 bed/2 bath house in TT in August 2008, same 1/2 acre lot as you. Attached single garage converted to living space. Don't know the square footage, but I'd say @ 1800-1900. My combined township/county/schools tax is $3100, which is about what the previous owner paid. So, I don't think you'd need to be in the 3000 sq ft range on 5 acres to hit $4k.

OF course, maybe you're under-assessed. Have you asked the tax man about that? ;-)

I was just re-assessed in 2007 and my taxes went up about $500 a year when they did that. This year i paid $1700 in school and $300 in county. For a total of about $2000. Not sure why it varies so much from person to person....

Of course that was with a discount of about $300 i believe due to the homestead relief (casino profits reduce school tax). if you do not qualify for that, or have not filled out the paper work then you will not receive the discount.
