Hello everyone

My wife and I are looking for a vacation home for the two of us. Years ago my family had a house in PCP and I loved all the time we spent there, but that place went to hell in a hang basket and we got out just in time. That experience has made me a bit gun shy about buying in the Poconos.

We are looking in the Lake Naomi area and the Wild Acres area for a place. Everything I’ve found online about those areas are from years ago. Can anyone give me info on the neighborhoods? Anything you think I should know.

Thanks in advance. Appreciate it.

I live maybe ten or eleven miles away from Lake Naomi. I have never heard anything bad about it. However; I have only had limited contact with the development over the years.

No matter where you buy; do your homework. If you decide on one of the vacation homes; try to talk to the next door neighbors; see what they have to say. It really only takes one bad neighbor to spoil your experience no matter where you move.

I'll say this... Don't buy a vacation home in any community. Your wasting your money if you do...

Lake Naomi doesn't seem to be a "community" as most gated communities in the area go. There is a club you can join but you don't have if you don't want to.

I'm more concerned with my place not getting broken into or vandalized. Did a tour in PCP years ago, Property Crime was rampant. Things started to escalate, and we got out...

I'm in PCP no crime issues at all. Never an issue with anything missing or mischief or anything. Most homes are lived in now. Not so many homes empty business is good here. But dues blues they are too high for little to offer. We need an indoor pool n more winter activities for the kids considering we get 10 weeks of spring n 42 weeks of winter. There is no summer or fall in Tobyhanna...

Yes; but we gave you and extra helping of winter - so why are you complaining! Glad you're back or did you just dig your way out that snowbank!

I've noticed that in Zillow the property values they advertise as "Zestimates" are totally way off....so if you use Zillow don't take their numbers for face value....they said my place is worth only $56K when in reality it's worth almost double.....
