I drove thru there on sat and now I know why we like it there.

My son was almost crying because we could only spend one night. Oh well, there will be more to come.

We love this area! My husband worked in Hawley for a few years until recently and we always enjoyed hanging out there on his lunchbreaks or on weekends. In the summer there's always something to do on weekends too!

Hawley is beautiful! We tried to find a big enough home in that area but nothing fit our needs. We are in Tunkhannock and like it as much as Hawley. The thing I like about Hawley is that it is closer to NJ and NY!!

Is that the one that's on the left hand side on Rt.6 just before you go down the hill into Hawley? If it is, I used to go there too years ago.

Seems to me it was on the main street, going north on the right
side. But, then again, I was on as Hawleyday !!!

All I remember about Hawley from my youth was that it was this nice looking town on the "other side" of Honesdale (I was from Northern Wayne, where the cow and deer populations outnumber the humans). I remember we used to play "teener" league baseball against the Hawley team, which I think was called the Stags. I used to always get the impression, even back then, that any place south of Honesdale, especially along Rt. 6, was much busier than where I grew up due to the higher levels of tourism and transplants. That being said, it's still a very pretty area, and don't let SWB scare you about Honesdale not being a "major city"; even he would be prone to admit that it's quite a beautiful, historic town! You won't be terribly far from Scranton either though...heck, much closer than the 45 minutes to an hour it took from where I grew up, lol.

You're right. Pat's bar was in town on Main Street. But there was another bar, the one I spoke of, but I can't remember the name.
