I had a previous thread about fencing. But I am also looking for an area in Northeast PA where dogs and dog lovers are welcome. Maybe an area with a really good vet. And an area where you can find good, positive reinforcement based dog trainers.

I used to live near Lake Winola, I had 2 dogs and it's the kind of place where everyone knows their neighbors and their neighbors' dogs. When I first moved there I kept calling people to tell them their dogs were loose until it was finally explained to me that most dogs just run loose there.... ooops. I believe there is a really good vet in Dalton, but I can't remember his name, I took my dogs to Clarks Summit to the vet and groomer. I never used professional training, but they seemed to have a good program at Petco in Dickson City (or is it PetSmart?) I haven't lived there in over 5 years, but I really liked Lake Winola.

Dr. Paws in West Scranton is an excellent Vet. Highly recommend them.

Out here in Shohola, you wouldn't have any problems with dogs and fencing. Lots of room. Not sure about vets or training though. Also, I was hesitant about the Milford Vet due to the fact that I needed to get my male cat fixed and they wanted him to have ALL of his shots first...over $200 before they would do it. I took him somewhere else and it was just, I think, a rabies shot that is really all that is required.

Good luck with your search.
