Well I was out on Saturday and took a different road back to the house. I took Bartron Rd. and when I got to the end I saw a huge community being built. It is called Heavenly View Estates. I looks like it's going to pretty expensive in there. As I drove down the road I saw huge mansion-like homes on both sides of the road which leads to this new community. I guess there are people who have big bucks here in Tunkhannock! It looks like this area will be the next Abingtons which is ok by me

You want the nice countryside surrounding Tunkhannock to become ugly tract-housing developments just like what happened to some of the once-rural and pristine townships surrounding Clarks Summit? I wouldn't.....

I would love it. I see no problems with communities that are planned right. Large enough properties and not on top of each other. I really don't think that Tunkhannock would get over-crowded and if it did, so be it.

How much are those new homes going for in Heavenly View Estates?

i found a fairly annoying website about it, here is the link

Pennsylvania Land Sales - Heavenly View Estates

it includes a map layout, i know many hate the tract developments but at least these are larger lots. looks like most are about 2 acres. Developments like this out here dramatically raise the prices of homes outside the development, and outside the developments HOA. It also brings in more tax revenue to the towns to help pay for local police, roads, fire departments, schools and so on.

Many of the developers here are required to build new schools, fire houses and roads to deal with the influx of new people. If that deal isn't happening in NEPA now is the time to get in your town meetings and demand it.

a developer (shea) here in maricopa arizona has been required to reconstruct and widen the roads around the new walmart strip mall that is under construction. Luckily out here the local governments found a way to keep the burden off the existing tax payers, and makes it the responsibility of the new ones moving in.

The property sizes do look larger. I think that it is a good thing that they aren't on small lots. If a builder does it the right way, it is a good thing for the county.

I just went to their website. That song is annoying!! They didn't specify pricing but it probably will be more affordable than NY or NJ! I also believe that Tunkhannock will become a very desirable area with many upscale homes being built and older homes that are charming !

Also similar in Wyoming County (Factoryville address) is MEADOW RIDGE with large lots (2-10 acres) and spectacular views of the mountains and Stonehedge Golf Course.
