...Was over in NEPA from Tioga County, NY to get a part for my manure spreader. The farm equipment dealer mentioned that many old homes, weekend homes, etc...that usually see visitors from Memorial Day to Labor Day..or in the fall on weekends, are seeing an influx of visitors. He also said they are coming there with loaded suv's , trucks, and trailers. He and the other locals' concerns were 2 fold..a strain on local goods and services...and are some bringing " something ominous" with them?

I live in Susquehanna County. There are second homes down the road from me that I can count on one hand how many times a year they come here. They are either from Philly or NY/NJ. Both houses had cars parked at them yesterday when I went for a walk. Never even thought of what you said until now.

I saw a number of camper/RV's heading down my road toward the KOA campground a mile away from me. Not sure if that was normal for this time of year, but I did wonder about it.

Also, my son tells me that college kids from Long Island, North Jersey, and Philly were sent by their parents back to their off-campus housing (dorms are closed) in Scranton following Spring Break. Obviously to avoid those high-infection areas.

Monroe County had 12 new cases announced today. My feeling is that we have so many partially because of those that wanted to 'escape'. Some are trying to escape the higher infection rates of NYC and other metropolitan areas and brought some of that infection with them. Of course that was not the only problem for our area. Tourism did not help and the long commutes on the busses for work back to the cities also helped spread the disease.

Thankful I don't take the bus to work. I'm only going into the office a couple times a week for now. Working from home the rest of the time.

I wonder how we would have handled all of this 30 years ago before high-speed internet became ubiquitous?

Probably busy looking up the word "ubiquitous".

The world moves at a faster pace than we can handle. #5 Son managed to find distilled water for my O2 concentrator. Also a couple of other items that just happened to be On Sale if you can believe.

It is amazing how many items we took for granted and can no longer find!

It might have been better when we did not know the meaning of words and made up our own meanings!

Our world is changing very fast now and it is hard to keep up.

So, does the President's theory of getting back to normal by Easter sound possible? Do you think we will come out quarantine that soon?

NO way, we are still on the upward curve. 200 new cases in our area just today, it has to flatten out completely to a day when there are no reported new cases before we are out of the woods. This could take until June at the rate we're going.
