Who says you can't see interesting things after dark in Downtown Scranton? Last week there was a story about a naked penguin running amok near the Hilton, and now this morning there are reports of a black bear causing chaos along the 200-block of Franklin Avenue. The bear was chased by city officials until it was finally subdued and captured behind the Radisson Hotel. I myself am wondering if this "bear" was really just Mayor Doherty disguised in a fur coat?

I'm surprised Doherty didn't step in with his wingtips on and single-handedly "save" the city from this bear, the way he supposedly did with the dog in the Nay Aug gorge. Some good ol' Scranton Times-Doherty slanted PR slop posing as news.

Not exactly downtown, but several years ago, the police had to shoot a cow that escaped from the slaughterhouse and ran for its life along S. Washington Ave in South Side. Ironically, it was heading towards McDonalds.

Why do these guys feel the need to open their mouths? Once you're arrested, just shut the hell up! Just ask for an attorney. The police have to stop the questioning at that point.
