nope. not true.

I went from an AWD to a FWD- same vehicle, just 4 yrs newer.

It's not the same no matter how good the tires.

The only drivers who would say that are those who never owned a good awd vehicle as many are just assist and not true awd full time.

There is no comparison

Not good advice....a $50 tire is not going to provide you the same wear, tear, and service of other more higher quality tires....remember: You get what you pay for!! Go cheap...that's what you'll get!! It also depends on what type of tire you're talking about: all season or winter only....I've always used all season tires between $95 to under $200 and found that for winter weather with all season tires these brands have always done me good: Goodyear Triple-Tred (now called Assurance ComfortTred), Continental Contact, Bridgestone, General Altimax RT43, Firestone Destination LE2 & 3, Toyo Open Country.....all H-rated for highway use.....

I particularly like the Michelin Defenders. Had very good results so far on my RAV4.

I haven't had an opportunity to try Michelins but I have heard good of them....too expensive for me....have used Nokian Hakkapeliitta's in the past and they are also excellent....come from Finland....I also had a 2013 RAV4 till a Pleasant Valley high schooler pulled out in front of me on Rt. 209 in Brodheadsville Apr. 2019 in front of the KFC....now I have a '14 Honda CR-V EX-L which I'm not impressed with but gas mileage is decent....next time I'll stay with RAV4's which I had most of my driving time....

RWD = King of Control

That's why there are no AWD or FWD cars in NASCAR or Indy...

they'd be lucky to complete a practice lap with AWDorFWD..

NASCAR is not driving in snow or pooled water and slush ....needs of the cars are different for different environments

I just put new tires on the Infiniti. I worked for an auto shop through high school and college. I know the value of good tires. $1600 lighter in the pocket but well worth the peace of mind.
