Who has some good spots? I practice catch and eat, so that may limit things.

I pretty sure that they recommend that you don't eat the fish from the Lackawanna river and I think its one fish a month or something like that if you do. Lackawanna State Park has some pretty nice fish.

No consumption advisories specific to the Lackawanna River according to this site, other than the blanket one meal a month advisory for stocked fish in all state waters. On a related note, how many dozen bluegills does it take to comprise a meal?

They aren't stocked, naturally reproducing there. I would just park the car along the river in the areas and just walk the river, If you fly fish, you can get info on what to use and where to go by going to the Orvis shop in the Viewmont Shoppes in Dickson.

I've heard stories that, back in the day, if a kid fell in the river, he'd be taken for a tetanus shot....

Prompton Dam is a great spot, my husband and I have caught bass, trout, blue gills, and even walleye there. It is well kept and very serene. I think this may be Wayne county, but it is not too far from Carbondale...

My mother said pretty much the same thing when she was growing up. She is amazed at how the river has rebounded. I paddle the river alot and it is clean and its beautiful but I wouldn't eat the fish for any reason or money.
