Although I'm not a fan of the Biden Administation, I don't mind the change, considering he's a native to the region. Spruce Street in Scranton will also be renamed into Biden Street.

He lived in Scranton for five minutes. Native to the area? Good job Scranton. Great way to waste people’s hard earned tax dollars. That sign is going to get vandalized non-stop and they have to post a cop 24/7 which will be another waste of Scranton tax dollars.

The democrat party biggies sure know how to hype themselves. For instance, the Tappan Zee Bridge is now called the Mario Cuomo Bridge; the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel is now the Hugh Carey Tunnel and the Pennsylvania Station is now the Moynihan Station.

Nothing beats NJ Gov Brendan Byrne who had the Meadowlands Arena built with public money and named after himself while he was still in office.

Scranton seems to be rushing to cash in on their Biden connection. Usually people have to accomplish something more than making a few remarks about Amtrak (not gonna happen) before getting stuff named after them.

NY named a bridge after a deceased governor? Geez, why aren't people marching on the streets?!?! This is an outrage!

I was living in NJ in the mid 70s and I thought that Byrne was one of the few good guy politicians I had come across. No doubt, it was others who affixed Byrne's name to that arena. The arena and the name have now been erased.

And as an aside, the original Meadowlands complex was designed by the Clarks Summit architectural firm, GSGSB now defunct.

Brendan Byrne and I share the same hometown and the same high school alma mater. I know all about him. He was highly unpopular after ramming through the state income tax and was heavily primaried by his own party after his first term. A lackluster opponent from the other party allowed him to be re-elected.

He didn't literally name the arena after himself but he didn't strenuously object either. The name was changed only after it became fashionable to auction off naming rights to arenas and stadiums.

Ugh, yuck.

But I’m sure everyone will still call it the Central Scranton Expressway.
