If you have a single family house in the Poconos, what are your annual cost for electricity and heat (no matter what heating fuel you use)? Please indicate the rough size of your house, and what fuel your heating system uses.

Since natural gas is unavailable in most of the pocono communities, heating your home with propane, fuel oil or electricity is expensive. The big factor will be how well the house is insulated. See link to search below.

Funny. It works for me. If the link doesn't work, try searching for "propane" in the NEPA forum.

We use about $1500 worth of electricity per year. Usage is low now, under $100 a month, but spikes when using a lot of AC in the summer and smaller spikes in winter months when using a lot of lighting.

For heating oil we used about 300 gallons between December 3 and March 25 when I sticked the tank last. Price will vary wildly depending on how you buy and from whom. I'm a will-call customer of a discounter so I get the best deal but you can easily pay a buck a gallon more than me if you just want convenience.

Right now the price of oil is insane. It's been rising as the weather warms, rather than dropping as it usually does. I paid $2.8990 in December and today it's $4.7990. Wondering how long I can hold out before biting the bullet and placing a minimum order.

Family of 4 adults, old farmhouse with new windows, about 1500 sq ft.

We're 3800 sqft and run electric with a really open floor plan downstairs. Our yearly PPL bill runs about $4k per year, give or take on how cold any given winter is. Colder months are the killer for us.

$1,898.06 for 2021. Three deliveries totaling 731.300 gallons, for an average cost of $2.5955/gallon.
Current prices are almost double that, of course.

Edit: Yesterday's price was $4.7990 and today it's $5.1990. Not only is the price insane, but the price trend makes no sense.

This is with electric heat? Are you using heat pumps or resistance?
