Anybody know if any new hotels are going up with this project? The hotels in the Wilkes-Barre area don't look so hot from my internet searches. My daughter will be attending Misericordia University in the fall and we're from Long Island so I would love to stay near the casino on visits.

You'll be pleased to hear that in a few months an exciting new expansion at Mohegan Sun will be completed. It will feature a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Wolfgang Puck Express, Johnny Rocket's, some sort of vineyard store featuring gourmet cheese products from iGourmet (based here in West Pittston, PA), etc. I don't believe a hotel is in these plans though. Just down the road is The Woodlands Inn & Resort; have you scoped this out? The Hilton Garden Inn is only a few miles from the casino and is located just off Exit 168 of I-81 on Highland Park Boulevard. I know the Hilton is very, very nice.

Woodland's Inn and Resort, Hilton Garden Inn, Comfort Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn, East Mountain Inn, Hampton Inn are all within one mile of the Casino. Woodland's is the closest and the best ( In house restaraunts, spa, nightclubs, pool, jacuzi ect.) and only about a quarter-mile from Mohegan Sun. I also think that The Woodland's and Mohegan Sun run promotional packages with each other. You may be able to get a discount, but don't quote me on that. Personally, I would stay at the Woodlands. If you do stay at the Woodland's, make sure you check out Leggio's Italian Restaraunt (right across the street, and up the road about 200 yards), excellent italian food, at very good prices. Good luck! I hope you hit the jackpot.
