If it goes as lightning fast as The Hotel Sterling project, then it should be complete in the year 2134!!!

What the hell is up with the Sterling? My commuter parking lot is right next to it, and I go by it weekly on my new mega-running route, and I haven't seen one ounce of progress now in many, many months. It's very irritating when local developers promise residents pie in the sky and deliver nothing but shattered dreams.

Supposedly they are doing it in Phases. Phase 1 was the demolition of the high rise tower. I do not know when phase 2 will begin. It is irratating. Philly put up the Comcast skyskraper in what? a year? and the Hotel Sterling still looks like a massive, ugly eyesore all these years later. In W-B construction projects must be measured in eons. It took twenty years!!! for the Movie Theater to go from the drawing board to completion!! These projects depend on goverment funds and fund raisers, so I'm sure that has alot to do with it. I was hoping it's opening would coincide with the opening of the Riverfront Commons. I do not see that happening though.

For the record, construction of Comcast Center began in February 2005. The building went thru several design changes and names for several years before Comcast became the lead occupant and it became known as 'Comcast'......

The speculative condo market has been cooled if not hindered everywhere by the current money/mortgage woes including NePA; successful marketability of the Sterling and also the 'raw' units within the Northampton @ Main project would be contingent upon construction costs, which, if fairly high, might set these project's condo ambitions back until better financial/financing timing.....I make no representation that this is fact, but it would seem reasonable right now.
