I took my car to the 'Tire Barn' in Tunkhannock yesterday to have a slow
leak fixed (nail) and it cost $16.91 for the repair. I'm still in shock

WHEW that does sound like alot! I remember going about a block from my house to the little old italian man at the gas station and he'd charge like $2. Of course that was 10 years ago but I'm pretty sure the repair process hasn't gotten any more sophisticated since.

Was the tire patched or plugged? $17 sounds reasonable if the former.

You could have bought a tire repair kit at an Auto Zone ect. for $2.50 and did it yourself.

most business need at least 50-70 bucks an hour today to survive per employee doing the work. if you figure 15 -20 minutes of time to fix and take off and put on its about right

theres very few things these days that dont have a 60 dollar an hour labor rate minimum attached to it. most things in nyc are around 100-125.00 an hour.......

my time in my industry is billed at 125.00 an hour, my son who is an attorney is a whopping 500.00 an hour.. makes 17.00 bucks for a flat a bargain....

We go to Kost tire on Rt. 6 in Tunkhannock. They do not charge us anything to fix our tire leaks. We are customers of theirs, so maybe that is why. Kost is top notch!
