Hi- I am attempting to host a reunion of the old Pocono drag lodge, on site at the track. So far I have had a huge response and would like yours. I have never hosted or organized an event like this and so this is a learning experience for me. Please email me if you would like to be on my distribution list. The owner of the property has given me permission to hold the event at the track. I'm going to paint and re letter whats left of the control tower. Going to cut brush and trees so everyone can look at the landmarks like the bleachers, tower, weight scale, snack bar, etc. I have a dj lined up, and Joey Shaver of WARM is trying to get me the old radio spots to drop in between the tunes...SUNDAY, SUNDAY AT POCONO DRAG LODGE......!!!!! I have contacted Bear Creek township about the event just to make sure I have their blessing; my letter went in front of the board monday night. I can use help with this, possibly helping me hook up with everything I need to pull this off and I need sponsors also. Any help you can give me would be appreciated; if not come on out and help us make this an unforgettable event!!

Thanks

If you go up 115 to the blinking light turn left towards Mtn.Lake.
Just a few miles in on the left back in the woods.
You can't even find the entrance road unles you know where it is.
You can see it on Google Earth if you look

I raced there way back when. When guys like Joe Amato were just getting their start .
And Mondo the announcer was hilarious!
I thought with the strip being there it would have been developed, but it has not.

I caught this thread by accident while snooping around at some of the state's forums. I remember seeing the ad many years ago for the Pocono drag lodge in the Binghamton, NY newspaper...never did get there b4 it closed. We have 2 former dragstrips in our area....Tri-cities airport(Endicott)..1/4 mile..on the runway! There was also an 1/8 mile track west of there...Duffik dragstrip(still sits in the middle of a field). We have a new 1/8 mile track...just west of Owego(skyline)...very nice with more improvements in store. A friend and I used to race a Bantam bodied altered up at Cicero..near Syracuse.

...Yes....I too would have preferred a 1/4 mile..but...the guy who owns/built the treack weighed out the additional construction costs and said no....for now. They are finishing a paved circle track next to it for opening this summer. Until he opened the 1/8 mile track a few years ago...there was no track between north Syracuse(Cicero-1/4m) and Beaver Springs?, or one of the other Pa. tracks
