I currently live in pocono farms,I am not a fan of Tobyhanna for many reasons .PCP does have a bad rep.over the last 9 years I have heard many conflicting stories ,but the crime stats do not lie and I do not let my wife go to Carriage Square shopping after dark alone or anywhere on RT196 for that matter.I do feel that Pocono Farms does get a bad rap for being in Tobyhanna and the closest community to PCP.I really have never had a problem in this community,Tobyhanna is a different story.

I agree, even I tend to lump anything in Tobyhanna as NOT GOOD, because of PCP.

Still, that crime is nothing. I know its only a town of 10,000, but I live in a place with about 30,000 people in the city, and we get shootings all the time. There have been at least 8 that I know about this year already, a few of them near my house.

-Shooting at convenience store on College Ave.- woman age 19 shot in stomach
-2 teens shot at on their porch by 3 other teens on Columbia St.
-A black male fired shots at another man on College Ave.
-A man was shot in the face on Oak St.
-A 16 year old shoots another 16 year old in the knee

Those are just a few so don't be too worried about your little crime problems

wow you must be so proud that you live in a high crime area. (sarcastic)

If you feel that PCP is a great place to live---then you should recommend it to people. I however will steer people away from that area.

There is high crime in the city not around it. It is still a wonderful place with twice as many good places as bad, but I'm just saying for you guys to grow up and it can't be too bad.

obviously you must live in PCP and just don't want to admit it, or you know people who live there.

tviz25,
What is so great about PCP?
My wife is a private duty nurse and she does not go there without an escort.Which is deemed necessary by her company.
I live down the road and have many friends there and they all feel stuck there and are sorry they are there. It is not the New yorkers that scare me or friends away from PCP because we are New Yorkers.
Lets face the facts , It is not a great place to live,it does have crime and gangs and it is a shame that it does not seem easily fixable.
I feel for the good people who live there and have to deal with the communities problems.
Any one out there have ideas on why the situation there does not improve? other then the section 8 issues, whats the deal with the management there and town Mayor? Are they pretending it is a great place ?

tviz25, Do you live or own property in or around PCP/PF? Are you talking about Elmira, NY or the Mt. Pocono/Coolbaugh Twp. areas of PA? I'm a bit confused as to the source of your info, and I'm researching the safety of the PA area specifically.

I don't care what you guys are talking about. I live in Elmira, NY and have never been anywhere else. I don't even knowwhere PCP is. All I am saying is that there a probably a lot worse places to go than PCP and if you want to see real crime, go to a bigger city.
