We have mice in our newly bought house! Found droppings in attached garage & finished basement and caught 3 with glue traps since Friday. Sooooo grossed out We called a natl. extermination co & had a shady experience with the local tech wanting cash, doing very little and never hearing from him again.

We arent living in the house currently (having some remodeling done) Can we have someone come and drop a "bomb" or something to really nip this problem in the bud? I've heard glue or snap traps will just keep catching a few here/there but it can be a perpetual problem. We think we've blocked any and all access holes but I'd feel much better if we had an actual exterminator doing a thorough job. Any recs for Scranton/Clarks Summit area?

could be voles, could be mice.. voles have very short tails.. they come inside in the cold months... keep a couple glue traps around the perimeter walls and you should do fine.. a exterminator wont keep them from coming in.. he will kill them once they are there, you could do it yourself.... or.... get a cat !!;-]

Had to laugh at Riverside Anyway, recently we had mice come into garage and find their way into my basement. The glue traps and poison seems to have done the trick but what else could be done to rid these pests? Cold weather is coming so I don't want them camping out in my garage

  • Seal holes as possible...but they get through small holes, or even chew the stuff too (steel wool is can help to supplement caulk, weatherstrip, metal/duct tape etc)... do what you can.
  • Peanut butter baited spring traps, poison trays or bars, etc (home depot or hardware store will have many options) ... poison bait bars are less likely to be moved through the house then the grain like stuff.
  • Maybe get a cat or three?
