I live in the Lake Wallenpaupack school district and it is very good. Part of the reason is that there are a lot of folks who have second homes in the district, pay the school taxes, and don't use it. Therefore, the school typically has an abundance of funds to put back into various programs, etc.

I moved from melville long island in june and the school district is one of the best there. I love this school district in PA My son is in the DD elementary there and he is now in above level math and doing great in all other subjects. I was not going to settle for any school. I researched SCHOOLMATTERS.com and any got all my info about Delaware Valley School district there. My son was received very well by all the kids there and made friends easily.

The best school in Pike county is, by far, Deleware Valley. I live in Dingmans Ferry, moved here two years ago because, I grew up in Ny, But always Knew the best schools were just across the line in Pa. Deleware Valley. So when I was able I took my kids to the dingman Deleware district. All four of them get straight a's. Even my handiccapped child does great. The icing on the cake is, MY children love it here also. Good Luck!

Honestly, I don't see how any one district can be the "best" for everyone and how anyone could know that unless they or their children had attended every district. My kids attend Wallenpaupack and I think it's great. They have excellent teachers and test scores, and lots of extracurriculars, and a good mix of technical and college prep classes. I have been to DV for different sporting events and it looks like an OK school, but I certainly wouldn't want to move to that area. Maybe a better way of wording the question would be "What do you like about your school district?"

I also have to add that my kids go to DV schools and they are great. My kids are doing great and they love the schools as well. Plenty of activities and programs for the kids to do after school as well. (We do Odyssey of the Mind and it's lots of fun for them) You can go to greatschools.net to compare Wallenpaupack and DV districts to get a better picture of test scores, demographics etc.
