Hi, There aren't any exclusively vegetarian restaurants in the area as far as I know. But there are a number that cater to vegetarians. Thai Rak Thai (Scranton), Amber Indian (Moosic), House of China (Scranton), Mi Tolteca (Moosic), and La Tonalteca (Viewmont Mall) all have vegetarian sections of their menus. Most area Italian restaurants also have plenty of options.

There have been a couple of recent threads on this, where there may be others I'm missing.

The best big grocery stores for veggie/organic/health food are Wegmans and Price Chopper (at least the one in Taylor). There are also a few smaller stores that sell health foods-- Alternative Eating (Scranton), Everything Natural (Clarks Summit), and Be in the Pink (Old Forge). And, the Scranton Farmers Market is a great place to get local produce Jul-Nov.

I don't know much about it, but there's a brand new vegan restaurant about to open in downtown Scranton. Signs in the window say it's called Eden (I think) and will open in September/October. It's being renovated right now and is located on Adams Avenue in the former Soup Nazi space (across from the Bog and Thai Rak Thai).

tofulovinvegan , check out Eden for a tasty filling no-frill take on healthy compassionate eating! My whole family had great lunch there and we expect to return soon. Friendly hometown staff and nice but simple green decor give Eden another half star in my book.
