I'm not new to the area, I've been here for 15 years, but due to various circumstance, I haven't had much opportunity to meet very many people or know much about the area. To this day, I work in Jersey.

Can anyone recommend any clubs (not bars)? Book clubs, history clubs, whatever?

Thanks.

Honestly, there isn't much there. What about trying meetup.com to find some ppl with same interests as you.

Do you live in town, Sherriesue? You might want to contact the Hawley Library to see about any book clubs - and that would be a terrific place to see if there are any other activities going on. You might want to look into the Hawley Rotary Club, too.

Hawley Library Website (check out the other Wayne County libraries as well)

You might find some more info at the Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber Website.

Here is a Google Search of "Fun Things to Do At Lake Wallenpaupack."

Hope this helps!

I live somewhat in the area- and after 3 years of living here, "hang yourself" seems like an exciting activity . Seriously though, not a hell of a lot here at all. Becky's advice to check the library seems like a good starting point though. Good luck.

Oops, sorry- just saw it was Karens advice to go to the library. I was half asleep when I typed that lol. Won't let me edit the post though . Just wanted to give credit where it's due .
