I need some help from my NEPA experts.

I have friends driving in from CT with their 4 kids to my home in Jim Thorpe arriving 12/27 and leaving 12/29. Where can I take my friends and kids that will be fun, not too expensive and out of the cold !

Out of the cold is tough. I think Blue Mountain has a warming hut by their snowtubing. It could be fun to do that if you're also able to get warm and drink cocoa between runs. Have you ever been to Christkindlemart in Bethlehem? I've heard it's great and I think the vendors are indoors. If you can't think of anything else the movie theater at SplitRock is a nice one.

Jim Thopre has a lot to offer right there at home! How about a nice meal at the old Switzerland Hotel place? A nice Santa train ride through the gorge would be nice too. I think there is a new indoor water park at Split Rock or JF/BB ski area (could be pricey though). Take a trip up to see the trains at Steamtown. Go for a sleigh ride (a few places in the Poconos)

Lights in the Parkway
Well this would be fun. We have taken the little ones a few times. Its a cute ride looking at the lights....Not expensive. I think you can buy tickets ahead. It will be on until Jan 4th. Us adults enjoyed the lights too.......
That Santa train ride sound like a real treat.....

Great Wolf Lodge -- Didn't I hear someone say, you can go there just for the water park and pay a nominal fee of course. If they don't do that they should !!!!

You read my mind! Last year they were running a special to go to the waterpark for $25.

That must have been a short term deal to use the park without hotel stay. Nothing on their site now about that, nor was there last year when I looked into it. You must be a guest at their incredibly expensive hotel. The new H2OOOOO at Split Rock has daily admittance without hotel stay, though, and much, much closer to Jim Thorpe, only about 30 minutes up 903

As far as the deals at Great Wolf Lodge...United Way of Monroe County's web-site sometimes has the $25.00 daily passes. They don't have them right now.

I saw indoor pics of Split Rocks Water Park and while it looks like great fun for a day, it doesn't compare to Great Wolf. Great Wolf is VERY expensive, especially during the holiday season. Over $50 for their cheapest room.

That said....since they are coming from CT, they must be used to the cold, right?
