You'd be surprised, Lialleycat, at the igorance that spews forth from some people's mouths when they really should just keep their traps shut!! An old Chinese saying say's it best, "Best to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt!!" Nuf said!!

This is why I want my own little island one day and just let those I choose to live on it with me! My favorite saying is 'The more people I meet, the more I like my pets'

I may be sheltered due to the circles I spend most of my time in too. I think people who work with animals are more tolerant than others, so that might be it. We had a few gay couples at our barn, but maybe it's because we welcomed them. Maybe it does happen here. I don't think anyone has said that to my brother, though he and his partner did have a few places that didn't want to rent to them. Though maybe he spares his sister the brutal details too.

I would guess he probably didn't want you to know the agony he went through and so you wouldn't worry about it either.

I just let my kids decorate last night as I made cookies..when they finished, they called me to come look..and it looked real pretty, but I quickly noticed that they missed all the best ornaments & told them to get the box back out. They couldn't understand, because they chose the best balls and bells of the bunch..but as I started taking out certain ornaments and explaining the story behind them, they understood. That's when the Spirit really hit me...there was the ones with toothless grins of my smiling children surrounded by noodle shapes that were made in grade school...the special ginormous construction paper and fabric christmas ball with red yarn hanger, and how can I not hang the little bag of lentils we made when we did Italy for Christmas around the World at Eldred?

The memories that this season brings me is what Christmas is to me!

have some cookies..
I had a Kindergarden milk carton made with a Santa face.....and then about two years ago. I parted with the beloved milk carton and gave it to daughter #2.......It was her Kindergarden gift to me, and now it belongs to her tree.
Also, I had an apple on my tree that was for my oldest when she was about 6 or so. It was coated in red, with a candy cane.........over the years it burst open........It still remained on the tree...That too, is now hers.

My mom has a tree made of lentils, macaroni and sparkles that I made in elementary school on her tree still. It's quite the worse for wear but for some reason that's the most special one to her. I have a lot of ornaments that were on my Nana's tree. When she passed on, all her Christmas stuff came to me as my Papa didn't want it anymore. A lot of the stuff was new stuff she bought while in Florida, but some of the old things from NY were there too. I have her stocking and bubble lights and such. I didn't keep the ugly elves though, they went to my Mom! Anyone else remember those? They had long legs that were folded up and their hands were under them. I saw some in the displays at Koziar's Christmas Village, which made me think of them. I was afriad of them as a kid! That and nutcracker figures, they still seem scary to me, just like clowns.

I really dislike Nutcrackers .......They are a bit scary to me too. Funny faces and all.........
But, I found out the little guys just love them. They have a collection now that comes out for Christmas in their rooms. Us girls we cringe at it......they however adore those soldiers in all shapes and sizes. So I actually go out and buy them, and they are slowly growing on me.....very slowly.

Nice pic, poconoproud!! Exactly what I love to do in the winter out on the deck!! Some of my friends think I'm nuts cuz I like to have hot cocoa outdoors after a snowfall. They just don't understand an ol' city boy loving and appreciating the outdoors.

OK Mr Webb........a picture of that would be nice. Right now, you'd be sitting in a sleet like snow....Maybe bring a warm cushion with you.
Our table outside is all ice.......Thinking where you would set the cup..
Well, were there is a will, there is a way.
