I saw a post like this on the Long Island forum and thought it would be fun here. What's your top 3 New Years Resolutions?

Here's mine:
1. Exercise more. Weightlift at least twice a week at the gym and 6 times a week do something, like hiking, dancing, yoga, etc, for at least 30 minutes that burns some calories. Ultimate goal is to be healthier and lose the last of the extra weight. I changed my eating habits over the past couple years and I am proud to say I eat very well now and enjoy it!
2. Be more social. Go out with friends, take classes, meet new people.
3. Have a savings account that I contribute to regularly. Of course this means finding ways to either make more money or cut more bills, both of which are going to be challenging. This is my stretch goal. The others should be easier!

1. Begin the process of losing 60 lbs .... ugh! This means changing my eating habits ... serving healthier meals for my family. With this comes exercising regularly ...

2. Quit smoking ... this is big ... and I don't know if I can do it ... but I sure want to try!

3. Read more books ... watch less television ...

4. volunteer more of my time to work for charity.

2.) Enter into a One-Year Lease in an Apartment by the End of 2009
3.) Join a New Church
4.) Find a New Boyfriend
5.) Don't Procrastinate as Much

If you can do number 5, the rest should be easy!

I don't know if it will get you a six pack, but I've been doing the 8 minute abs routine (it's on YouTube, so you don't have to buy anything) and I have noticed a big difference with my waist size as the 'love handles' and 'kangaroo pouch' are getting smaller. Perhaps when the rest of the fat is gone, I'll have ab muscles! It's easy to do and only takes 8 mins, so I've been pretty good at getting it done before I hit the shower on work days.

1. Lose 30 lbs (losing weight is always everyone's #1 resolution, right? At least until February...lol)

2. Get our bills fully under control/cut expenses

3. Pass the real estate exam, get my license, and find a good brokerage...

For me since Doc says my cholesterol was only a wee bit high:
Eat more healthier home-cooked meals with fresh vegetables from local farmers
Worry less (yeah right)
Improve my knowledge in the work I do (not easy but not impossible)

Well you know I hate to make New Years Resolutions because they are seldom kept. This year I am keeping mine!!!!!

1. Lose weight. I've gained alot of weight this year and I was not thin to begin with so I know this is something that has got to be done. More for my health but some for vanity.

2. I need to find a job. I wont start looking until March but I am going to find one. Hopefully our economy will start looking better and hospitals will start hiring again.

3. I would love to start reading more and going online less, but this isnt a major problem so I wont be upset if I just start reading a more and stay online the same amount of time, lol.

And for Lus:
As for quitting smoking!!!! Very important. That was one resolution that I kept. I smoked 3+ packs per day and I stopped. It was difficult but again health reasons ruled out. Its tough at the beginning but you will be happy about it later. I am breathing alot better now after 10years smoke free. I took up another habit that replaced the cigarettes. I chewed gum. I chewed 2-3 packs per day. I blew bubbles and lots of them. It helped me get through the withdrawals I guess. I didnt care if I offended anyone with my annoying chewing. It worked!!! I dont chew gum much anymore but it was easy to quit chewing gum, lol. Good luck with this difficult addiction. Be positive!!!!
