Joe wasn't the only one - Noreen basically said the same thing this morning! I was floored when I got up this morning and looked out my window to see so many inches!

apparently a dusting of snow here is 2 to 8 inches--what entails a storm?----10 to 20 inches?

sigh!!!!

we are over here in Wle and I am guessing 8 is on the ground. Too bad I have to go home today. It is beyond pretty. I am even bummed that we decided to go Ireland for spring break instead of coming here for the week.

While WNEP is dead-on accurate and wonderful when it comes to severe weather, even interrupting regular programming to stay with viewers when tornado warnings are issued to keep everyone up-to-date with their live Doppler radar scans, they absolutely BLOW when it comes to winter weather predictions. There was a song on the radio done by local band "The Wack Jobs" back in the late-1990s I do believe called "It's just a guess" (parodied to "It's raining men"), which poked fun at local meteorologists after they had botched yet ANOTHER snow fall prediction. They've honestly been incorrect with EVERY snow storm this season at my home, probably because they don't update their maps and consider me to be in the "Valley Cities" even though I live at 900 feet above sea level. Our "dusting" was about 2.5 inches.

Wow! Yahoo weather is showing 47 degrees right now in Pocono Lake. You guys are almost balmy. It's about 82 degrees here.

okaydorothy, I love Ireland so much, it's hard to imagine that you'd regret going there for a week. What part of Ireland are you visiting? Is it your home area?

We ended up with 11+, it was still snowing after we measured last night. Alot of times we listen to the Monticello NY or Binghamptom Weather since it seems they are more like us weather wise.

Well that's much warmer than the 20 degrees currently being shown at Pocono Lake by The Weather Channel's web site.

That's weird, SB. I went back to check. Yahoo is still saying that it's 43 degrees in Pocono Lake. Then I went and looked at the Weather Channel page. There it's showing 23 degrees and feels like 13 degrees.

Guess you can't believe everything you read on line! How 'bout that!!
