I think the biggest mistake that new residents make after moving to Northeast PA is griping about how much better things are in (NY or NJ). Or how hick things are here. Or how you wouldn't let "these doctors" touch you.

I know a lot of people who do this and it's insulting. It's fine to have that opinion - but if you want to fit in and be liked by others, some opinions are better left unsaid!

But I have to wonder why, if, according to them, its so much better in NY and NJ, why these people move here in the first place?

In other words, if the influx of NYers and NJersyans bring liberal, big government, policies with them, then NEPA will just become another NY suburb, with unbearable taxes and a lower quality of life.
South Jersey is a different world from North Jersey, though. New Yorkers (and North Jersey people) seem to have an air of superiority about them, that they think everything about NYC is so much better than anywhere else, and that people from other areas are hicks and beneath them. I don't get that vibe from Philly and South Jersey....they seem more down-to-earth. (and the ironic part is that South Jersey overall is a lot nicer than North Jersey....a lot less ghetto and nicer beaches).
