I know how many of you talk about a town with a walking area and stores........How wonderful that would be.
Well, this the "Market Common" is a town and townhomes built on what use to be the old Airforce Base. ( in Myrtle Beach)
Just two years ago this was barren, flat land.......
Now it has all the high end stores, a walking park, a lake, a bunch of townhomes.........and it is a little city/town in itself.
So I took a few pictures " on the fly" all while moving in the car.
So ...........not all that great but worth a look. Could NEPA have something like this? Check it out........

Looking down the Market Commons town at the stores.....

Some of the townhomes......and they hope to build more

The Market Commons Theaters......

Additonal stores

One of the many sitting areas at the Commons

One of the many outdoor eating areas..

Thats Barnes and Nobles at the end of the street...

Some more store views.......

This horse is huge outside the Chinese Restaurant

Thank you Jungle George........Mr Summering was the driver today for the roving camera and he is doing better then expected by us. Thank goodness.
I will have to go and look at your Commons area now......
I would use the Theaters here and the Barnes and Nobles mostly.
I don't need name brands to make me happy, its a bit pretentious to me.....The little Polo guy?....
I don't want to revolve around any label.....LOL

Summering nice Pics and that area is really nice. The major difference I see between that area and NEPA is simply money. There is a lot of money in the Myrtle Beach area right on down to Charleston SC. That money along with tourist money support that beautiful shopping area. It would be very difficult for NEPA to have something like that IMO.

Default very nice!

Nice photos! When my son was growing up, we used to play Sim City. I always enjoyed the idea of planning an entire town!

Well actually Dan..........Its way too empty for progress to happen. That is why in the local paper it was just mentioned that they are trying to "change the plan" and build more townhomes rather then stores now.
I don't see with the amount of foot traffic going on there......that it can thrive and be profitable.
They mentioned in the News that they need more townhomes, thus more people, so the stores stay busy.
Rather then I suppose......add'l stores and not enough people.
It is quite stunning though...........
Beautiful stores......
I know there is money in Litchfield beach, and Pawleys Island.
Other then that, the tourist in the summer probably will help this survive.

Mathjak........I'm going to be posting some of the pretty homes by the beach....You'll love them!

BTW.........The Commons has a big park across the street and I don't know where that pix went......With a walking path, bike path, lake....picnic areas ( for the CD gatherings..ehmmm)
There is also in walking distance some cottages with garages........They are two story homes on pillars with a garage under......and a path leads to the Commons.
Househunting............No I don't miss the snow at all........I love looking at the panseys in Jan and Feb......and other flowers. Snow in Dec. was fine by me.....
