Ok, I am looking at other counties here in the Northeastern part of Pa. We are looking in Northern Wayne County. but another member posted about Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties. I just saw a gorgeous home on 5 acres listed fir $229,000. in Lenoxville Pa. which is not far from Uniondale Pa.
Can you tell me about this area?

Talk about freaky! I just mentioned that SAME home to you in the other thread BEFORE I even looked at this thread! Spooky! LOL! Union Dale and Lenox Twp. are in the extreme southern portion of Susquehanna County. The area is still very rural, and it should remain unspoiled for years to come. Union Dale is home to Elk Mountain Ski Resort for recreation, and Lenoxville is a "yet-to-be-discovered" great rural commuter area for Scranton, just 25 minutes or so away via I-81. Since northern Lackawanna County still has TONS of "McMansion-land" left, I don't think sprawl will encroach as far north as the Susquehanna County border during your lifetime. I'd definitely look into this home.

Wyoming County is also another good bet. There's not really much of a difference between the three areas you've looked at (Wayne County, Pike County, Wyoming County), so I can't really recommend one over the other. All three areas should remain pristine and rural for years to come. All three have charming small towns with tree-lined streets and are still close enough to Scranton (or Binghamton) for conveniences. Crime is nearly non-existent in all three areas, and traffic is unheard of (Route 6 through Wayne and Wyoming Counties can get a bit hairy at times, but it's still VERY manageable). As you have already seen, real estate prices in all three counties have also proven themselves to be affordable. $229,000 would NEVER get you that much of a house and land in almost any other part of the Northeast!

To conclude, you can't really ask me about the differences between the three counties, because other than their distances from the cities, there is no defining factor among them.

Thanks ScrantonWilkesBarre!
Isn't than house beautiful?! Well we had another quiet weekend down here. NO SHOWINGS! So, when the time comes that house probably will be sold.
I think we want an older home that needs some work. We love remodeling to our own style. We do want acreage though. Those areas sound great.
We looked at a home in Union Dale and didn't even know it was in Susquehanna County when we looked. It's sold
Thank you for all the info,
talk to you later,
Bam
