I'm now shopping for some vinyl replacement windows. Can anyone here recommend an honest dealer/installer in the area? Also, how much should I expect to pay per window with installation?

Thanks!

I am also shopping for windows, mine have leaked the gases. It would be hard to say how much your windows would cost without knowing the size of the window. Good Luck !!

Average sized windows for an old house I guess...I think they're 27 3/4" wide by about 64" tall.

Most window manufacturers have several grades of windows - new construction, contractor grade, premium. Differences will be insulation value, and fit and finish, rigidity, etc. I bought the lowest grade for my weekend place at Towamensing, but a better grade for our full-time home in Delaware. I paid $2013 for 13 new construction windows - smallest were 36"x36", biggest were 48"x60", and they are all sliders (slide side to side, not up and down.) Paid my cousin $500 to install the lot, with me acting as slave labor. Probably $1k install from a stranger doing all the work. Bought them in suburban Philadelphia, Quality Roofing Supply Company. Closest location to you is Allentown http://www.qualityroofingsupply.com/locations.html (broken link)

Hope this helps

Default $$$ there are many variables...get an estimate or two

The best thing to do is call an installer/seller or two. They are used to doing estimates. This will enable you to decide on the windows you like and who you want to do business with.

I forget the name but its right across the street from CVS on Greenridge st down by Pioneer Dist......The prices were good and the windows were definitely worth it...I think we put 3 in my moms house and they can special order anything outside of a "standard" size...In various colors. Its a family business and its managed to stay in the city so I try to support.

I got my windows installed by a contractor hired thru Lowes and they did an excellent job. I used the Lowes in Stroudsburg since I live in Saylorsburg. Cost was around $4500 for 6 Pella 405 casement windows. The installers were very professional and stayed till around 8:45PM till the job was done. Made a big difference in appearance and in temperature in house. They swing open by hand crank and the screen is included.

Default Interesting

I think this is beyond my skill and interest. What were the estimates you got?
